Safety

All users of the building must be mindful of his or her own safety as well as the safety of others. Make sure to read safety and user instructions carefully before using any equipment.

Fire

The building is equipped with an acoustic warning system that will inform the users of the building of what to do in case of fire. The building is also equipped with a sprinkler system that will start fighting the fire automatically. The warning system will sound until it is safe to re-enter the building. However, you should never re-enter the building without having been specifically told by a fire fighter or facility management staff that it is safe.

Avoid triggering the fire alarm

Any kind of open fire, use of candles etc. in the building is forbidden!

The following can set off the flame or smoke detectors:

  • laser light
  • electric arcs from welders
  • other strong ultraviolet light
  • confetti bombs
  • strong heat
  • dense concentrations of steam and dust

If work is carried out by workmen or in the labs that develops smoke, steam or dust, the sensors closest to the workplace must be deactivated and possibly covered. Please contact the Facility Management for assistance and more information, email STBYG6service.okoplan@au.dk.

In the event of fire or accidents Emergencies

  • Stop/contain the accident if you can do so without putting yourself at risk.
  • Call 112
  • Evacuate the area/building if necessary
  • Call the Aarhus University emergency phone number: 87 15 16 17
